Catechesis for Life

I+N+J

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.
And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)

This is a series developed by Pastor Sias with the aim of encouraging the congregation in weekly engagement with the doctrine of the faith. Its aim is to cover the Catechism and Liturgy and then add more "modules." These are provided for evaluation and use, personal or congregational. Pastor Sias welcomes feedback, corrections, and suggestions at the e-mail address listed at the bottom of this page.

The complete text of Luther's Small and Large Catechisms is available at www.bookofconcord.org. Luther's Small Catechism is a handbook of what every Christian should know from the Bible about the Christian faith, whether young or old. It serves as the basis for instruction in the Lutheran Church, and is worthy of daily meditation as a concise summary of Christian doctrine. Luther's Large Catechism is a collection of sermons on the same chief parts of doctrine, helpful to parents and pastors in teaching the content of the Small Catechism.

The Lutheran Church is not just "the singing church." It is also "the teaching church."
